OKLAHOMA CITY – Drivers in Oklahoma City may need to find another way home at the beginning of next week.

The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority says construction on the Turner Turnpike may cause heavy traffic on Monday, March 30.

Officials say the education rally at the Oklahoma State Capitol may be affected, so visitors may want to leave a little early.

The Turner Turnpike is undergoing bridge construction at Wellston, resulting in the closure of one lane for both eastbound and westbound traffic.

For westbound traffic: Drivers will be able to exit at Wellston and take Route 66 to the Luther interchange and get back on to the turnpike, or continue on Route 66 to OKC.

For eastbound traffic: Drivers will be able to exit at Luther, take Route 66 and get back on the turnpike at Wellston.
