TUTTLE, Okla. - A Tuttle woman is in trouble with the law for allegedly impersonating an FBI informant.

33-year-old Kristy Goodwin, at first, gave a fake name when a police officer stopped her in the parking lot of the Hop N Sak convenience store in Tuttle.

Tuttle police detective Shana Berryhill said, when an officer questioned Goodwin, she gave police more than a false name.

"She said she was an informant for the FBI and later added the DEA and the Moore Police Department and said she was trying to get information to put the Irish Mob away," Berryhill said.

During a search of the vehicle Goodwin was in, the officer determined Goodwin's real name, and she had several outstanding warrants.

She also had a plastic bag full of mail that did not belong to her.

"That's the mail that was sitting open that he noticed belonged to the owner of the convenience store right up the road, and he knew that it was not hers, obviously," Berryhill said.

Goodwin agreed to let the officer look through her belongings including her purse, which turned up even more.

"Blank check writing software and blank checks in there, and there was a couple that was already printed," Berryhill said.

While she has heard many excuses from suspects trying to get out of being arrested, Berryhill said this case is one of the most bizarre.

"I don't know if she thought it was a good enough out there lie, to make it more believable because, if somebody says something like that, then it's gotta be true, because you can't make it up."

Goodwin remains in the Grady County jail.

Investigators are looking into whether Goodwin acted alone in the alleged mail theft or if she is part of a bigger fraud scheme.

More charges are expected to be filed as the investigation unfolds, including possible federal charges for mail theft.
