Two arrested after shooting kills five-year-old boy

DENISON, Tex. – A man and a woman have been arrested in connection to a shooting that killed a 5-year-old boy and left his 11-year-old brother injured.

18-year-old Ryan Clay and 17-year-old Sabrina Nino are both facing capital murder charges of a child under 10 years old.

Officials say Sunday night, the boys were inside a home when gunshots rang outside.

Both boys were struck. The five-year-old was taken to the hospital where he later died. The 11-year-old boy was critically injured and is reported to be in stable condition.

KTEN reports Clay and Nina were arrested Monday afternoon.

“The investigation is continuing and more arrests may be forthcoming,” said Denison police spokesman Lt. Mike Eppler.
