YUKON, Okla.-- Two people who stopped to assist following a traffic accident were struck and killed when a second vehicle lost control Friday evening.

This happened in the westbound lanes of I-40 near Frisco Road.

Several people were treated at the scene, and two others were transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

Authorities believe the rainfall is to blame for causing the wrecks.

Authorities say 23-year-old Kaylee Renee Hamilton was pronounced dead at the scene.

43-year-old David Paul Vallerand was also pronounced dead at the scene.

We're told Vallerand and Hamilton both rushed to the scene to help help out when a vehicle hit them.
