OKLAHOMA CITY- Crews responded to two house fires believed to be caused by lightning strikes Wednesday evening.

One was in southwest Oklahoma City, where flames appeared from the roof line above the home’s garage.

The other was in Mustang, where a two-story home under construction had visible flames from the second floor.

The OKCFD wants to remind people that, “When the thunder roars, get indoors”.

There is no safe place outside, so do not go outdoors during an electrical storm.

Unplug and avoid all electrical appliances.

Also, anything involving running water should be avoided. Water and the metal plumbing it travels through, are electrical conductors.
