OKLAHOMA CITY - A brawl at the Oklahoma County Jail sent two inmates to the hospital with stab wounds.

Investigators say it happened on the eighth floor during recreation time. A fight broke out between two men and it turned into a brawl.

“When the last detention officer had walked out of the cell, one inmate attacked another inmate and pretty soon there was several inmates on top of each other," said Mark Opgrande with the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office.

One of the male inmates was armed.

"One of the individuals who jumped into the fight is the person who we believed had some type of a knife, a shank, and started swinging at two other individuals," said Opgrande.

Other men were also injured in the fight, which lasted less than two minutes before detention officers broke it up.

Authorities say the man responsible for the stabbing could face serious charges on top of what he's already in jail for.

Names aren't being released and the stabbing victims are in stable condition.
