Two Memphis police officers shot during barricade

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two Memphis police officers were shot Tuesday while serving a warrant for a man accused of shooting two people earlier this month.

TACT officer Timothy Jackson was shot in the leg while the warrant was being served and is in stable condition.

Jackson has been with the TACT unit for five years.

A second officer, Paul Hutchison, was shot several hours later when police threw a chemical device into the raided the home.

Hutchison was also shot in the leg and is recovering.

Police say Aaron Dumas shot both officers at a home in the 1300 block of Worthington.

After the second shooting, police say Dumas went back into the home and set it on fire.

A body has been found in the home but no identification has been made.

Dumas is wanted for the double shooting of a brother and sister.

This is near Lamar and Worthington in Memphis.

Residents and news crews are being removed from the area due to concern of more shots being fired.
