Two teens arrested in Edmond 17-year-old shooting death

EDMOND, Okla. --

Edmond Police has presented charges after two 18-year-olds were involved in  the shooting death of a 17-year-old teenager in Edmond.

Police were called at 9:50 p.m. Friday to 1920 E. 2nd in the parking lot at the Oxford Oaks Apartments.

Carlos Santos, 17, was shot in the head by an unknown suspect during a drug deal in the parking lot of the apartments, police said.

Santos and his friends, Jessey Gonzales, 18, and Nicolas Gedela, 18,  were meeting with three unknown suspects to sell a quarter-pound of marijuana for $850.

During the middle of the transaction, one of the suspects fired a shot into the car driven by Gonzalez.

Santos was taken to OU Medical Center Edmond and later transported to the OU Medical Center. He was later pronounced dead at 2:40 a.m.

Police have charged Gonzalez with first-degree murder, unlawful distribution of marijuana, and possession of drug proceed money. Authorities have also charged Gedela with first-degree murder and unlawful distribution of marijuana.

Gonzalez and Geleda are currently in the Oklahoma County Jail.

Police are still searching for the three unknown suspects.
