OKLAHOMA CITY — A 9-year-old boy is recovering from serious injuries after he was attacked by two vicious dogs.

It happened Monday night at on the 4100 block of S.E.48th St.

According to OKC Animal Welfare, a pit bull and a German shepherd bit the boy on his hand and forearm.

The victim was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance. 

The dogs were taken into custody and euthanized.

Animal Welfare officer Jon Gary said, “The boy did have pretty severe wounds on his hand and forearm area. The owner was very cooperative. She signed the dogs over to us and so we can at least prevent this from happening again.”

The dogs are being tested for rabies.

The owner, 49-year-old Portia Jones, faces two counts of harboring a vicious dog.
