TULSA, Okla. — A family is moving out after a deadly home invasion that left them in terror.

There is a shattered window at the Suzanne Apartments.

“My son, he’s devastated. He doesn’t want to come back here because of  memories, which I understand. I don’t even want to stay here no more.”

Anita Penn says her son shot and killed two men in order to survive.

“I’m surprised my son made it out of there. If he hadn’t had that, my son probably wouldn’t be here.”

Penn says her son is in a wheelchair after he was shot a few years ago.

“In the situation he’s in, he did the right thing because he can’t fight. He can’t do anything. He’s in the chair, and the only things he’s got to use is his hands.”

Police say the man who lives at the apartment and his friend were outside, when the friend got in a disagreement with Kejuan Shields, 22, Demario Harris, 34, and a third person around 12:30 Thursday morning.

Police say after the man, who Penn says is her son, and his friend went inside and locked the door, that’s when Shields, Harris, and the third person kicked the door in.

“Not only that door, but the door to the bedroom is off the hinges, and there’s a big hole in the wall… blood on the floor,” Anita said.

Police say there was evidence of a struggle inside.

“In my room, my TV is strung everywhere, holes in the wall, gunshots in the wall, and my broken window.”

She says she wasn’t home when it happened.

“I mean, I was just devastated… I just couldn’t believe it. I just had to sit on my bed and catch my breath.’

Police released the man who shot the two men.

“He done the right thing… I mean, it’s clear cut (evidence).”

Police say they are still investigating. They are also looking for the third person who, they say, got away through the window.

The third suspect is Tymalk Love. If you see him, please call police.
