Joel Jackson was in a horrible car accident that left him in a quadriplegic state after he was thrown “nearly half a football field,” according to NBC.

That was in 2009.

Six years later, his wife, Lauren Jackson, is still right by his side.

“I told him, ‘When you can talk, I want to renew our vows. And when you can walk, I want you to dance with me,” Lauren wrote on her blog.

The couple wed after the wreck in 2013. They had known each other since childhood, but reconnected after the accident.

A couple weeks ago, Lauren and Joel, both 26, shared an impromptu moment swaying to their wedding song, Edwin McCain’s “I’ll Be,” at a rehabilitation hospital in Jacksonville, Florida.

“We shared our first dance again this time on our feet,” Lauren Jackson wrote on her blog.

Joel, suspended from a body weight-support system, looked into his wife’s eyes — the only way he can communicate with her.

“I couldn’t stop saying ‘Goodness you are sooooo tall!'” Lauren wrote.

Through all the trials, Lauren credits Joel for inspiring her. He tells her, “Anything is possible through love.”

The video of their first dance is longer than four minutes, but it only takes about 30 seconds for the tears to start building up.

The video was posted to Facebook on Oct. 14 and has gotten more than 23 million views.
