A new video shows the evolution of girl names in the United States since 1880.

Using data from the U.S. Social Security Administration, Abacaba was able to track the popularity of girl names over the past 135 years.

While some names come and go, others flash into popularity in an instant.

The video also gives some information on why some parents may have chosen their baby girl’s name.
