OKLAHOMA CITY– With under 30 seconds remaining in the game and the Thunder up one, Dion Waiters knocked down a clinching three pointer to help the Thunder to a 99-94 win over the Utah Jazz on Friday.
Waiters put up nearly as many shots as the other four Thunder players off the bench combined but hit the shot that counted.
The former Cleveland Cavalier finished with 15 points.
After struggling in OKC’s previous two games, Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook had strong games in the victory.
Durant finished with a game high 32 points and made a critical pass to Waiters for the clinching three.
The Thunder improved to 10-4 this season when KD plays.
Russell Westbrook scored 25 points and passed out 12 assists.
Serge Ibaka was the only other OKC player who scored in double figures; Ibaka had 12 points and pulled down seven rebounds.
The Thunder will get five full off days before their next game, an NBA rarity.
