GUTHRIE, Okla. – Authorities are looking for two suspects who they say left a restaurant without paying, which led the waitress to follow them out and jump on their vehicle.

"I don't think in 13 years I've ever heard about this happening,” Sgt. Anthony Gibbs, with the Guthrie Police Department, said.

It started with a typical Tuesday night at a local restaurant in Guthrie before several law enforcement agencies were called to what they thought was the scene of an accident.

"Once they got there, they quickly realized that it wasn't just an auto-pedestrian accident,” Gibbs said.

Witnesses say they saw a woman run out of the building and jump on a vehicle.

“What had happened was a couple of people had left the restaurant without paying for their tab,” Gibbs said.

Gibbs says that led their server to follow them out of the building and attempt to stop them from getting away.

"She literally jumped onto the car, grabbed hold of the trunk and was thrown off the vehicle as the vehicle left the parking lot,” Gibbs said.

The waitress was taken to the hospital, but Gibbs says he believe she is doing alright.

“Although it was very brave, yes, I just would like to say that I don't think it's worth her life. That's why the police is there, they can definitely give us a call, give us a description of the vehicle,” Gibbs said.

The suspects were seen leaving in a gray car.
