OKLAHOMA CITY - Jedis, Droids and Wookies are in full force at Walmart.

"I had all of these toys as a child. My oldest had this next generation and so now my youngest one will get the next generation of toys," Mark Deisering said.

Walmart is banking big on the Star Wars franchise this holiday season.

They have more than 500 toys from the franchise, ranging from the R2D2 Bop It game, to Star Wars Legos and of course the always popular light sabers.

The new products are coming out just in time for the new movie hitting theaters in December.

"It's actually really exciting. It's going to be one of the hottest categories this holiday season," Deisering said.

But that's not all that's hot for under the Christmas tree.

"We tested from 18 months to 12 years old, let the kids actually touch the items and play with the toys and determine the top 20 items coming out this holiday season," Deisering said.

Hundreds of kids chose their favorite toys for the upcoming holiday season.

Some of the most popular items include the Mega Nerf RotoFury Blaster, Pie Face Game, and Barbie Dreamhouse.

For the young animal lovers, the Paw Patrol Mission Chase dog was a big hit. And the adventure seekers flipped for the Shipwreck Rails Set.

Walmart is even doing something new this year. They are offering their layaway program earlier than ever starting now through Dec. 14.

"There are two types of customers of course. There is that customer that is a list customer that comes in, makes those purchases and is able to make the purchases over the next two or three months and then there's always that Dec. 24 customer that will come in last minute and do their shopping," Deisering said.

So whatever type of customer you are, may the force be with you during the busiest shopping season of the year.
