TAMPA, Fla. – Many times, you’ll see dashcam footage from a wild chase or a rough arrest.

However, that is not the scenario every single day.

The Tampa Police Department is part of a study, which gave 60 officers body cameras to wear during their shifts.

On Thursday, the department decided to release some of that footage.

The police department says that 20 percent of the 1,000 Tampa police officers were assaulted in the line of duty in 2014.

In all, 341 officers were injured.

In January, the Oklahoma City Police Department launched its body cam program.
