BLACKWELL, Okla.- A water advisory was issued for part of Kay County.

Just after 11 p.m. Tuesday, the Blackwell Police Department issued an alert for residents.

They are asking people to let the water run for 15 minutes before using it.

Due to a power outage in the area, electricity was knocked out to the water treatment plant late Tuesday night.

Letting the water run is just a precaution to make sure it’s clean.
