CHICAGO, Ill. - Authorities in Chicago are searching for a man accused of killing a Family Dollar store manager.

Family members told WGN that 30-year-old JQuinn McCune was shot and killed Tuesday afternoon by an alleged shoplifter.

Witnesses told police that McCune spotted a man attempting to steal from the store and confronted him.

The man had a bag of chips in his hand and pulled out a gun.

The Chicago Tribune reports the alleged suspect may be connected to several other thefts in the area.

"I was walking in and all I seen was a guy pull out the gun with chips in his hand," Angelica Chancellor told the Chicago Tribune. "I guess the store guy was trying to stop him from stealing... [The suspect] said it wasn't worth going to jail, so he turned around and shot him."
