MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – A 23-year-old South Carolina woman is facing serious charges after police say she went on a bizarre shoplifting spree.
Police were called to a Walmart in Myrtle Beach after learning about a possible assault at the store.
Two women who work as loss prevention officers for Walmart told police that they tried to stop 23-year-old Carolyn Elizabeth Wright after they saw her try to walk out without paying for a few items.
When they confronted her, the women told police that Wright began to fight them. Authorities say Wright allegedly punched one of the women in the side of the head, and bit down on the other woman’s finger, causing a portion of her finger to come off.
A witness says she tried to call 911 and then Wright grabbed her phone and her hair.
She was arrested on two counts of third-degree assault and battery and one count of first-degree assault and battery, according to arrest records.
