Woman arrested for DUI after crashing into Oklahoma City park

OKLAHOMA CITY – One woman is in jail after nearly hitting a police officer with her car overnight.

Just after 1 a.m., police tried to stop the woman for speeding near N.W. 63rd and Portland.

But the woman sped away nearly hitting one officer in the process.

Officials say she was going too fast on a curve and lost control.

She crashed through a cable barrier and into the sand at Lake Hefner’s Stars and Stripes Park.

Police say the woman tried to run away but they caught up with her almost immediately.

She was arrested for eluding police and suspicion of driving under the influence.
