CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – A woman in Corpus Christi says she was held captive and tortured by a neighbor for hours.

“She walked over and went bam, bam with her cigarette like three times in a row. Right here, on this part of my face,” said Christina Rohm.

Rohm says she was burned on her face, hands and legs by her neighbor, 26-year-old Ashley Rodriguez.

Police say it was Saturday when Rodriguez is accused of holding Rohm against her will.

“If you think you’re going to help a neighbor out just to be nice and stuff, don’t do it,” Rohm said.

Rohm says Rodriguez asked her to help pack moving boxes inside the apartment.

That’s when she claims Rodriguez accused her of taking her debit card.

“She made me sit in that orange chair and said, ‘Don’t get up or you’re dead.’ Then she went to the bedroom and got a roll of tape and sat there and taped my neck and my lips and wrapped it around all over my neck real tight,” said Rohm.

During that time, officers got a call from a concerned neighbor, who said they had heard a woman’s voice screaming for help.

When police got to the apartment, Rodriguez answered the door and told officers everything was okay.

“The cop knocked at the door and she didn’t want to answer the door,” she said.

Police found Rohm inside the apartment, tortured and burned.

“Thank God the cops did get here, you know, for her sake,” said Flaco Garcia.

Even though Rodriguez was arrested, Rohm is still worried.

“She might get out and come after me again,” she said.
