Woman escapes house fire because of family pet

OKLAHOMA CITY – A metro woman is lucky to be alive after a fire destroyed her home early Thursday morning.

According to fire crews, the woman’s dog woke her up when the fire began, allowing them both to get out safely.

Fire crews arrived on scene to the home in the 13000 block of SE 119th St. around 3 a.m.

They were forced to truck in water because of the home was in a rural area.

The $140,000 home is a total loss.

No one was injured.
