CHOUTEAU, Okla. – Authorities say a man died while working at a plant in Chouteau, Oklahoma.

Officials told KOKI that the man was a contracted worker at the Grand River Dam Authority Plant and was working in the Coal-Fired Complex when he fell 25 to 40 feet.

“It’s a tragic accident we’ve experienced this afternoon,” Justin Alberty, with the GRDA, said on Sunday.

A formal investigation into the man’s death is underway and is expected to take several days to complete.

Last year, three contractors were injured after a small explosion in the same area of the plant.
