OKLAHOMA CITY -- A worker was killed  at a construction site near the old Crosstown in downtown Oklahoma City Thursday afternoon.

Crews were deconstructing portions of the highway when the worker was pinned in between a large piece of equipment and a large truck.

"At this time from what we see it looks to be just an industrial accident, which is very unfortunate," said Captain Don Martin, Oklahoma City Police.

Investigators have not released the name of the victim. We are told he worked with the Sherwood Construction Company.

The company is not commenting on the accident.

In a statement the Oklahoma Department of Transportation says “Our thoughts are with the worker’s family, friends, fellow crew members and the company during this difficult time.”
