COMMACK, NJ – A 96-year-old man got more than he wished for when he bit into his birthday cake.

According to WABC, the man wanted one thing for his birthday, his favorite cake from his favorite store.

But when he bit into the German apple ring cake he got a bite of something certainly not in the recipe, a rat tail!

At first glance, it appeared to be black mold but after the family took a closer look, they identified the true grotesque discovery.

According to WABC, the store has pulled the cake from its shelves and there are no known rodent issues in the bakery.

The family’s attorney said someone may have tampered with the cake.
