CLEVELAND, Ohio – Prosecutors are trying to decide whether or not to file charges against a father who attacked his daughter’s killer in court.

On Thursday, Van Terry was face-to-face with Michael Madison, the man convicted of killing and mutilating his 18-year-old daughter.

Madison was convicted of killing 38-year-old Angela Deskins, 28-year-old Shetisha Sheeley and 18-year-old Shirellda Terry in 2013. After murdering the women, prosecutors say Madison wrapped their bodies in garbage bags and left them near his apartment complex.

In court, prosecutors told the jury that Shirellda Terry was killed with a sword and that her injuries were the worst they had ever seen.

“I was thinking about how you mutilated my child, how you cut my child. And you did all this while my child was still alive, so you caused my baby great pain,” Van Terry told WJW.

A jury convicted Madison of the murders and a judge sentenced him to death.

At his sentencing, Terry was asked to speak but could only think of what was done to his little girl.

“I guess we are supposed to find it in our hearts to forgive this clown… who has taken my child,” Terry said to the court.

He says Madison’s demeanor only fueled his anger.

“He looked at me and smiled. I thought that was so disrespectful,” he said.

At that point, Terry jumped across the table in an attempt to grab Madison.

“I don’t know if I thought about leaping or what have you, I just know I wanted him,” he said.

Terry was escorted out of the courtroom and now prosecutors are considering whether to file charges against him.

“I call it a father feeling his pain and if I did get charged, I’m alright with that ’cause I did what I thought was right,” he said.
