SHEFFILED, England – A young woman left a man battered and bruised after he allegedly attempted to rape her.

Around midnight on Nov. 1, Johnathon Holmes, 35, allegedly followed a 21-year-old woman as she made her way home from work, The Star reports.

When the woman realized she was being followed, she started preparing for the worst.

She got her phone and put her keys inside her hand in case she needed to defend herself.

That is when Holmes allegedly pushed her into some nearby bushes.

According to The Star, Holmes forced the woman on to her back and said, “You are going to enjoy this.”

The 21-year-old immediately started punching her attacker in the face, stomach, and neck while screaming for help.

The man then forced his tongue into her mouth, which she bit down on, forcing him to relax his pressure on her.

The woman was able to put herself in a position where she held her keys to Holmes’ neck and throat.

Two witnesses ran over to help and Holmes ran away.

When officers found the man, he reportedly told police he was too drunk to remember what happened.

A judge recently sentenced Holmes to four years and six months in jail after he admitted to the assault.

The woman reportedly told the prosecutor, “He won’t do anything like this to a woman again.”
