COLLEGE STATION, Texas – When you hear things go “bump” in the night, it’s usually your imagination playing tricks on you.

This time it was real for one Texas woman.

She found a 12-foot python in her bathroom.

WXIN reported Veronica Rodriguez said she’d given her daughter’s three guinea pigs a bath an evening two weeks ago.

She said she took them outside so they could run in a penned area and left the back door open.

Texas newspaper, The Eagle, reported Rodriguez said she believes that’s when the python crawled in her home.

She said later that night she heard noises.

After searching her bedroom and finding nothing, she went to investigate.

Rodriguez said she flipped on the bathroom light and immediately slammed the door shut and ran from her house.

She said she called her brother and the police.

“When the officer showed up, he came with a brown paper sack,” she told The Eagle newspaper. “I told him, ‘You’re going to need a bigger sack than that.’”

The Eagle reported police eventually corralled the snake using a trash can as a holding container until Animal Control arrived.

According to the report, the snakes owner claimed it and took it home.

Rodriguez said she will definitely shut the door next time.
