YUKON, Okla. – Authorities in Canadian County say they have taken a 34-year-old man into custody after he allegedly tried to meet an underage minor for sex.

The Canadian County Sheriff’s Internet Crimes Against Children unit arrested 34-year-old Nathan Jones on Friday.

Authorities say he was attempting to meet a 15-year-old girl to have sex.

Officials say Jones responded to an ad that was posted by an undercover deputy that said the teen was ‘looking for friends.’

Deputies allege Jones responded to the ad quickly and aggressively pursued a sexually explicit conversation.

Authorities say he also asked for nude photographs from the 15-year-old girl.

When told that it would be too dangerous to send the photos, Jones allegedly stated that clothed photographs would be alright.

According to a press release, deputies allege Jones said he wanted photos “to have something to masturbate to.”

Officials say that even after he was advised the girl was only 15-years-old, Jones continued to push for a meeting.

They allege he also sent an extremely graphic description of how he planned to have sex with the girl.

Sheriff Randall Edwards, with the Canadian County Sheriff’s Office, said, “When Jones began describing the violent things he intended to do, my deputies realized he posed a serious threat and they went into high gear to make an arrest.”

Jones allegedly asked the undercover deputy if they could meet at the Wal-Mart parking lot in Mustang.

Members of the sheriff’s office quickly arrested Jones, who admitted to sending the text messages.

Edwards said, “We raise our children not to believe in monsters, but in reality they exist and come in the form of these child predators I’m committed to apprehending.”

Jones was charged with soliciting sexual conduct with a minor.
