It was a banner day for Oklahoma State golf. Former star Rickie Fowler committed to playing in the Olympics for team USA.

Fowler joins Bubba Watson and Patrick Reed as the other member of the squad. There’s still one spot to fill. Jordan Spieth is still undecided about competing. Fowler is ranked 7th in the world in the World Golf Rankings.
But the banner day continued across the pond. Alex Noren won the Scottish Open. Fowler won the same event last year. Noren’s final round 70 (he finished at 14 under) qualifies him for The Open Championship. It begins this week.
The win is Noren’s fifth on the European tour. He’s competed twice in The Open Championship, with his best finish coming in 2012 where he finished tied for ninth.
