Barons even series, force Game 5 in Charlotte

The Oklahoma City Barons routed the Charlotte Checkers 8-to-1 on Friday night in Game 4 of their first round American Hockey League playoff series.

OKC evened the series at two games apiece, forcing the decisive fifth game on Saturday night in Charlotte at 6:00.   The Barons scored three goals in each of the first two periods to build a 6-0 lead and got eight goals from seven different players, with Tyler Pitlick scoring twice.

A Barons win on Saturday night advances them to the second round.   A loss ends the season.
