Darnell Nurse is one of the top prospects in the Edmonton Oilers hockey organization and a recent call up to the Oklahoma City Barons.
Nurse was the seventh overall selection in last year’s National Hockey League entry draft.
The 19-year-old has only played in a handful of games for the Barons, but is already beginning to make an impact for the club.
Darnell is not alone as a standout athlete in the Nurse family.
Darnell’s father, Richard Nurse played several years of pro ball in the Canadian Football League.
Darnell’s mother and his older sister were both college basketball players and his younger sister, Kia, has signed to play basketball at UConn.
The connections don’t end there for the Nurse family, Darnell’s aunt played basketball at Syracuse, where she met and married now retired NFL quarterback Donovan McNabb.
