Hield continued to make his case for national player of the year going 14 of 21 from the field. It’s his tenth game with 30 plus points this season.

Georges Niang paced Iowa State with 31 points, but they were never able to get a substantial lead over Oklahoma.

The victory moves Lon Kruger to 2-5 all time in the Big 12 Tournament. Kruger said before the game he was going to go to his bench early in the contest and did.

Isaiah Cousins and Ryan Spangler both finished with 10 points in the win.

Oklahoma will face West Virginia Friday night at 8 with the winner moving on to the Big 12 championship game. Oklahoma swept the season series against the Mountianeers. The Sooners are in search of their first Big 12 tournament title since 2003.
