Class A & B State Hoops Tournament Underway

The opening round of the state tournament came to a close Thursday with some exciting Class A and B boys and girls action.

Some of that action included undefeated Fort Cobb-Broxton trying to keep that 28-0 record going.

Glencoe's boys basketball team improved to 27-0 and advanced in the Class A boy's basketball playoffs with a 83-67 win over Velma-Alma.
Ty Lazenby led Glencoe with 31 points, his brother, Jake, scored 17 for Glencoe as well.
Glencoe, the defending Class A boy's state champs, will face Weleetka in the quarterfinals.
The Okarche girl's team, last year's Class A state champion, beat Burlington 74-46 to advance to the Class B girl's quarterfinals.
In the same portion of the Class B girl's bracket, Erick's beat Timberlake 40-31.
Erick, the girl's Class B defending state champs, advances to play Okarche in the girl's Class B quarterfinals, Friday, March 6 at noon.

Both early games in the Class B boys bracket had to go to overtime to determine winners.

While the Class A girls saw a big win from a team that's no stranger to the state tournament.
