The American Football Coaches Association released its 2017 All-America team on Wednesday, and it featured three players from Oklahoma and three from Oklahoma State.
OU’s selections were all to the first team: quarterback Baker Mayfield, tight end Mark Andrews, and offensive lineman Orlando Brown.
Oklahoma State had wide receiver James Washington on the first team, with quarterback Mason Rudolph and defensive back Tre Flowers on the second team.
The AFCA All-America team is one five teams recognized by the NCAA and that are used to determine the consensus All-America team.
Mayfield, Andrews, Brown and Washington were named first team on all five and are therefore unanimous All-Americans.
Oklahoma now has 35 unanimous All-Americans in their history, more than any other school.
Oklahoma State has nine unanimous All-Americans.
In addition, Baker Mayfield was named the CBS Sports national player of the year on Wednesday.
