Cowboys Keep Bears in Hibernation At Home

Oklahoma State’s men’s basketball team held 20th-ranked Baylor to just 35 percent field goal shooting on their way to a 64-53 win on Tuesday night at Gallagher-Iba Arena in Stillwater.

OSU fell behind by seven points early, but finished the first half with a 24-8 run to take a 30-21 lead at halftime.

In the second half the Cowboys built the lead to 12 before Baylor tried to rally late, but a dunk by Le’Bryan Nash sealed the win, putting OSU up 56-47 at the time.

Phil Forte led OSU with 16 points and hit four 3-pointers.

Nash had 13 points andΒ 6 rebounds, while Tavarius Shine had 11 points and was 3-for-3 from three point range.

Jeff Newberry had 10 points, and Anthony Hickey had 8 points and 10 assists.

OSU hit 9 of 18 from three point range for the game and blocked 8 Baylor shots.

The Cowboys improved to 14-6 overall, 4-4 in Big 12 play.

OSU will next host Oklahoma in the second Bedlam game of the season Saturday night at 7:00 in Stillwater.
