Cowboys Pull Away To Win Big 12 Opener

Oklahoma State’s men’s basketball team got 23 points from Jeff Newberry and pulled away from TCU to win 69-48, on Saturday, January 2, at Gallagher-Iba Arena in Stillwater, in the Big 12 opener for both teams.

TCU shot just 30 percent from the field and made only 1 of 17 from three-point range.

OSU had four players in double figure scoring, with Jawun Evans scoring 13, Leyton Hammonds 11 and Jeffrey Carroll 10.

The Cowboys blocked 8 Horned Frog shots and made 17 of 18 at the free throw line.

OSU led by two points at halftime, 26-24, and outscored the Frogs 43-24 in the second half.

The Cowboys improved to 9-4 on the season.

OSU visits Baylor on Tuesday night for a 7:00 tipoff in Waco.
