The league is expected to hold a news conference at 5:30pm in Dallas to announce the decision.

Trotter also reports that Big 12 Commissioner Bob Bowlsby is in the process of notifying expansion candidates of the leagues decision.

BYU and Cincinnati were considered the most likely candidates to join the conference, but today’s meeting proved the ten teams couldn’t come to a super majority to add anyone.

There were 11 total schools in the expansion process. Trotter adds that the goal for the conference now is to find a way to expand TV revenue with the current deal they have in place which runs through 2024.
