According to a report from the Houston Chronicle, OU and the University of Houston will open the 2016 football season in the Advocare Texas Kickoff in NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.

The report says the two schools are currently trying to finalizing an agreement to set up the game.

NRG Stadium is the current home stadium of the NFL’s Houston Texans.

OU and Houston have only met two other times in the past with the Sooners winning both games in blow out fashion.

The Texas Kickoff is the same game that Oklahoma State and Mississippi State played in 2013.

LSU and Wisconsin will play in the 2014 version, and Texas A&M will face Arizona State in the 2015 game.
