With just eight healthy scholarship players, Oklahoma State’s men’s basketball team played valiantly for a half, but lost to 21st-ranked Iowa State 58-50 on Monday night, February 29, at Hilton Coliseum in Ames, Iowa.

The Cyclones led 27-25 at halftime, and went on an 11-0 run to start the second half and take control of the game, building an 18-point lead before winning by eight.

The Cowboys shot just 32 percent from the field and were just 4-for-27 from three-point range.

OSU did not have a single player score in double figures, with three Cowboys scoring 9 points:  Tavarius Shine, Joe Burton, and Jeff Newberry.

Leyton Hammonds did not play due to a finger injury, and Jeffrey Carroll did not play due to illness.

The Cowboys fell to 12-18 on the season, 3-14 in conference play.

OSU closes the regular season on Friday night, March 4, at home against Texas at 8:00 pm.
