Terry Bowden will bring his Akron Zips to Norman for the season opener on September 5 against Oklahoma.

Bowden is the son of former college football coaching legend Bobby Bowden, who lost three times to the Sooners in the Orange Bowl when we he was the head coach at Florida State.

Terry's team probably won't win this year either, but he's hoping it goes better than the first time he came to Owen Field as a player for West Virginia.

On that day in 1978, the Sooners whipped the Mountaineers 52-10.
