Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield and wide receiver Dede Westbrook are among the semifinalists for the Maxwell Award, which goes to the nation’s top college football player.
Mayfield and Westbrook are on a list of 18 players to be named semifinalists.
Mayfield was a semifinalist last year as well.
He leads the nation in pass efficiency rating, completing 71 percent of his passes with 27 touchdowns.
15 of Mayfield’s touchdown passes have come in the last three games to set a school record.
Westbrook has been on a tear lately, catching passes for 881 yards and 11 touchdowns over the last five games, the most ever by a Sooner in a five-game period.
Three finalists will be named on November 22, and the winner will be announced on December 8.
