Sooner Women Rout Creighton

The 18th-ranked Oklahoma women’s basketball team held Creighton to just 21 percent field goal shooting on their way to an 80-52 win on Sunday at the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman.

OU went on a 15-0 run midway through the first half to blow the game open, leading by as many as 33 in the second half before winning by 28 points.

Sharane Campbell scored a career high 25 points on 10 of 14 shooting from the field to lead the Sooners.

Nicole Griffin added 17 points and 9 rebounds, and Aaryn Ellenberg tallied her second double-double of the season with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

The Bluejays shot just 15 percent from the field in the second half, and for the game, made only 4 of 30 shots from two-point range.

Creighton set an OU opponent record with 41 three-point attempts, but made only 11 for just 27 percent.

The Sooners shot 46 percent from the field and never trailed in the game.

OU improves to 5-2 on the season and will host Western Illinois on Wednesday night at 6:30.
