Ohio State leads Oklahoma 45-24 in the 4th

After an hour and a half delay, Oklahoma and Ohio State kicked off with the Sooners receiving the football. An impressive drive by OU ended with Austin Seibert missing a 27 yard field goal.

The Buckeyes struck first though, Curtis Samuel scrambled 36 yards for a touchdown late in the first quarter to five Ohio State a 7-0 lead.

On the ensuing drive, on 4th down, Ohio State’s Jalen Holmes tipped a Baker Mayfield pass, Jerome Baker intercepted it and returned it 68 yards for the touchdown giving the Buckeyes a 14-0 lead.

Oklahoma didn’t stay down long. Joe Mixon took the ensuing kickoff 97 yards for the touchdown to cut the Ohio State lead in half. After the play, on replay, you could see Mixon dropped the ball in celebration before entering the end zone. However, it doesn’t matter, the play can’t be reviewed after the extra point.

Ohio State led 14-7 after one.

The Buckeyes added to their lead in the 2nd quarter when JT Barrett connected with Noah Brown on a three yard touchdown strike on freshman corner Parrish Cobb. That made it 21-7 in favor of Ohio St.

Austin Seibert pulled Oklahoma a step closer nailing a 27 yard field goal to make it 21-10 Buckeyes in the second.

Baker Mayfield threw his second interception of the game in the middle of the second when Marshon Lattimore took advantage of a miscue. On the very next play, JT Barrett connected with Noah Brown on a second touchdown strike of the game. This one being 37 yards. 28-10 in favor of Ohio State.

Baker bounced back though hitting AD Miller on a 35 yard touchdown to answer. The Sooners trailed 28-17.

Noah Brown had a coming out party in Norman though. With six seconds remaining in the half, Noah Brown caught a pass by pinning it against the back of Michiah Quick. It was Brown’s 3rd touchdown reception of the half. Buckeyes up 35-17 at the half on the Sooners.

Noah Brown’s dominance spilled into the second half. He caught an eight yard touchdown from JT Barrett. It was his fourth of the night which tied a school record. Ohio State had a dominating 42-17 lead early in the 3rd quarter.

The Sooners didn’t quit though. Baker Mayfield hit Mark Andrews for a five yard touchdown before the third quarter ended. Andrews now has a touchdown grab every game this season. The Sooners trailed 42-24 after three.

Tyler Durbin started the scoring in the 4th quarter drilling a 31 yard field goal to give Ohio State a 45-24 advantage.
