Khadeem Lattin tipped in a missed shot by Jordan Woodard with three seconds left to give second-ranked Oklahoma a 70-68 win over #11 West Virginia on Saturday, January 16, at the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman.
Oklahoma overcame 18 turnovers and 33 percent field goal shooting to get the win in a game that featured 7 ties and 10 lead changes.
The game was tied at halftime 34-34, then West Virginia went on an 11-0 run to take a seven point lead.
The Sooners responded with a 9-0 run to take a four point advantage.
Jonathan Holton of West Virginia hit two free throws with 25 seconds left to tie the game at 68, setting up Lattin’s late heroics.
Buddy Hield led OU with 17 points and made four 3-pointers, while Woodard added 13 points.
Ryan Spangler had 10 points and 14 rebounds for the Sooners.
OU improved to 15-1, 4-1 in Big 12 play.
The Sooners may move to the number one spot in the national rankings with the win, after West Virginia upset Kansas on Tuesday, January 12, in Morgantown.
OU’s next game is Monday, January 18, at Iowa State at 8:00 p m.
