Oklahoma scored on nine straight possessions to blow out Kansas 62-7 at Memorial Stadium in Lawrence, Kansas, on Saturday, October 31.

Baker Mayfield led the Sooners with a spectacular day throwing the ball, completing 27 of 32 for 383 yards and four touchdowns.

After missing a field goal on their opening possession, OU scored touchdowns on their next three tries.

Oklahoma went 83 yards in two plays on their second possession, with Baker Mayfield passing to Joe Mixon for a 68-yard touchdown.

The next OU possession went 61 yards, with Mayfield passing to Durron Neal for an 11-yard touchdown and a 14-0 lead with 5:32 to play in the first quarter.

The Sooners extended the lead when Mayfield passed to Sterling Shepard for a 4-yard touchdown to make it 21-0 with 1:51 to play in the first quarter.

Late in the first quarter a Shepard mistake led to the Jayhawks' first points.

Shepard muffed a punt and KU recovered at the OU 29.

That set up a Ryan Willis 17-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Patrick on the first play of the second quarter to cut the OU lead to 21-7.

Oklahoma extended the lead with a methodical 75-yard drive in 14 plays, with Samaje Perine scoring on a 3-yard touchdown run to make it 28-7 Sooners with 9:00 to play in the first half.

Perine had 90 yards rushing on 11 carries, well short of his NCAA single game record of 427 he set last year vs. Kansas.

OU's string of possessions with a touchdown ended the next time the Sooners got it, as they settled for a 46-yard field goal from Austin Siebert, a career long for him, to give Oklahoma a 31-7 lead with 2:34 to play in the first half.

OU added to the lead before halftime, with Perine scoring on a 1-yard touchdown run to cap an 80-yard drive in 5 plays, with passes of 23 and 34 from Mayfield to Shepard helping set up the score to make it 38-7 Sooners with 22 seconds left in the first half.

Shepard had 11  catches for 183 yards.

The Sooners went 67 yards in 8 plays on their first possession of the second half, with Mayfield passing to Sam Grant for a 1-yard touchdown to make it 45-7 Oklahoma.

Kansas gave the ball right back when Charles Tapper stripped it from De'Andre Mann and Steven Parker recovered for OU at the Kansas 19-yard line.

Four plays later, OU converted the turnover into points as Trevor Knight kept for a one-yard touchdown to make it 52-7.

OU's 9th straight possession with points resulted in a field goal, as Nick  Hodgson got a chance and kicked a 32-yarder to  make it 55-7.

Alex Ross fumbled on OU's  next possession, but OU closed their offensive day with a special family score, as Knight passed to his brother Connor Knight for a 17-yard touchdown to make it 62-7 with 5:32 to play.

OU  held Kansas to just 181 total yards in beating the Jayhawks for the 11th straight time.

The Sooners improved to 7-1 on the season, 4-1 in Big 12 play, and will host Iowa State next Saturday at 6:00 in Norman.

Kansas is now 0-8, with five conference losses and has lost 11 straight games dating back to last season.
