There's no doubt the Red River Showdown is a game full of emotions which could lead to a complex contest the very next week.
Last season that game was Kansas State.
On the way to Manhattan the Sooners ended up being stuck in the airport for several hours, but it ended up being an experience that brought the team closer together, and led to a Sooner stomping 55 to nothing win the very next day over the Wildcats.
This year OU says they won't be over looking Kansas State either.
"We practiced really well," Ogbonnia Okoronkwo, OU junior linebacker, said.  "We respect Coach Snyder.  He's a really good coach.  So we tried to be very detailed in our practice.  It was a good win for us, but they're a good team."
"It's another challenge," Steven Parker, OU junior defensive back, said.  "It's the next game on our schedule, and all we can do is prepare just like we did for Texas and everybody else that we have played.  Really it's going to be on us.  I don't think that we're going to take Kansas State at all because they're not a light team.  They're not a bad team.  They're a good football program, and especially from Bill Snyder coaching those guys up.  We're definitely going to have to be ready, and have our hats on."
"We've had a lot of good wins through the years," Bob Stoops, OU head football coach, said.  "Our track record is pretty decent after them.  Bottom line is it's a new week.  A new game.  We've got so much to improve on.  That's what we've got to to push in practice to make that improvement."
As if Bob Stoops needed any other motivation he said he was well aware the Wildcats have beaten his team on Owen Field the last two times they've played there.
