The transition from high school to college could leave one spinning.

Freshman forward Lindy Waters is starting from the ground up at OSU.

Whether it be in the classroom or on the court.

“College has been totally different,” said Lindy Waters lll, OSU freshman forward.  “It’s always a learning process with classes and managing your time.  Also trying to get better on the court.  It’s a lot different, but I like different.”

The member of the Kiowa tribe already had a relationship with Brad Underwood when he recruited him to Stephen F. Austin.

The new Cowboy coach has some high praise for Waters after being reunited.

“He makes the game look easy,” said Brad Underwood, OSU head basketball coach.  “Not many people do that.  Lindy is one of the freshman that the game has slowed down a little bit for.  Most young guys the game gets really fast.  I’ve been very, very pleased with his progress.”

“He’s very talented,” said Phil Forte, OSU senior guard.  “He can do a little bit of everything.  He can shoot, he’s skilled, a steady defender, and, so, I think he’s someone that can give us some great minutes this year, and be a key factor for us.”

Stillwater and OSU is probably the last place where you'd think a Norman kid would end up in this Bedlam crazed state we live in.

Waters even has some family that works for OU.

He’s not the first recent Norman North grad to come to Oklahoma State.

John Kolar is a backup quarterback on the football team.

But for those closest to Lindy none of that rivalry stuff even matters.

“Actually everybody’s been supportive,” said Waters.  “Everyone’s always encouraged me to go where I feel like is home, and I chose here.  Just the players, the people in Stillwater, it just felt like everyone wanted me to come here.”
