Cowboys Roll Past Cowboys of McNeese State

Oklahoma State got several big plays from receiver Tylan Wallace and easily beat the McNeese State Cowboys 56-14 at Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater on Saturday night.

OSU scored the first 35 points of the game and got touchdown passes from their top two quarterbacks to cruise to the win.

McNeese State got the ball first and on the second snap of the game, Cody Orgeron was intercepted by A.J. Green, who returned it 27 yards for a touchdown to give the Cowboys a 7-0 lead just 45 seconds into the game.

OSU punted, then turned the ball over on a fumble on their first two possessions.

On their third, the Cowboys got a big play, with Spencer Sanders passing to Tylan Wallace in the flat, and he raced 69 yards down the right sideline for a touchdown to give OSU a 14-0 lead with 1:29 to play in the first quarter.

The Cowboys then went on a long drive in the second quarter, going 91 yards in 15 plays, with Chuba Hubbard scoring on a 4-yard touchdown run to give OSU a 21-0 lead with 7:43 to play in the first half.

Oklahoma State had another long drive on their next possession, with Sanders passing to Wallace for a 4-yard touchdown to cap a 91-yard drive in 10 plays and give the Cowboys a 28-0 lead with 1:29 to play in the first half.

Sanders finished 12 of 18 passing for 250 yards and three touchdowns and also rushed for 51 yards.

OSU got the ball to start the second half and scored on the first snap, with Sanders passing to Wallace, who zipped 75 yards down the right sideline for a touchdown and a 35-0 Cowboys lead, just 12 seconds into the third quarter.

Wallace had 5 catches for 180 yards and all three of Sanders' TD passes.

McNeese State's offense got going on their next drive, with Cody Orgeron passing to D'Andre Hicks for a 16-yard touchdown to cap a 7-play, 82-yard drive to make it 35-7 OSU with 11:15 to play in the third quarter.

OSU answered immediately, with Dru Brown at quarterback, and he found C.J. Moore for a 59-yard touchdown to finish a 5-play, 75 yard drive, and giving the Cowboys a 42-7 lead with 9:15 to play in the third quarter.

OSU had another big play on their next possession, with Brown passing to Braydon Johnson for a 69-yard touchdown to make it 49-7 Cowboys with 6:52 to play in the third quarter.

The Cowboys' defense responded with a turnover, as Phillip Redwine-Bryant intercepted Orgeron, returning it 12 yards to the McNeese State 1-yard line.

Micah Cooper scored on the next play to give OSU a 56-7 lead with 6:04 to play in the third quarter.

It stayed the way until midway through the fourth quarter, when Dorian Pollard caused a fumble and Marcus Foster scooped it up for McNeese State, returning it 32 yards for a touchdown to cut OSU's lead to 56-14 with 5:39 to play in the game.

The Cowboys finished with 580 total yards.

Oklahoma State won their 12th straight non-conference game and improved to 2-0.

The Cowboys wrap up non-conference play next Saturday when they visit Tulsa for a 2:30 kickoff.
