Cowgirls Win at Purdue, On to Sweet 16

Oklahoma State’s women’s basketball team advanced to their third Sweet 16 in program history on Monday night, beating Purdue 73-66 at Mackey Arena in West Lafayette, Indiana.

The Cowgirls got an impressive performance from sophomore guard Brittney Martin, who had 20 points and 20 rebounds.

LaShawn Jones and Roshunda Johnson added 16 points, while Liz Donohoe scored 12.

The Cowgirls held Purdue to just 38 percent shooting to get the win on the Boilermakers’ home floor.

It was OSU’s first back-to-back wins since January.

The Cowgirls will play Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana, on Saturday in the NCAA Regional Semifinals.

Senior guard Tiffany Bias had to leave the game early in the second half after rolling er ankle, but did return for the final two minutes.

OSU improved to 25-8 on the season.
